David Brookbank After graduating from Elon University, David began his career with Paul Revere. He has been an active member of the insurance industry for over twenty years as a broker and business owner specializing in complex insurance design for individuals and corporations. David has also served as a board member for a regional hospital organization, which gives him unique insight into the delivery side of consumer care. He serves as an expert witness with regard to insurance-related products.
Bonnie Burkett Bonnie, a graduate of Erskine College, brings over thirty-eight years of industry experience to the classroom, and for decades owned and operated her own agency representing State Farm. Prior to her work in the insurance industry, she spent time in the human resources field. Bonnie’s claims, sales and agency operation background enable her to share valuable insight into a wide range of insurance-related topics.
Anne Rendleman Daniel President of Medical Insurance Claims Services, Inc., Anne is one of the most authoritative and qualified professionals available to teach Medicare Supplement/Long-Term Care and issues dealing with older adults. Anne is a graduate of Pfeiffer University and she is an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she teaches Financial Longevity, as well as a member of the Advocacy Council for AARP North Carolina. Anne is an enthusiastic teacher and recognized expert in this field.
Randy Jackson A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Randy spent over twenty years as the chief meteorologist at WFMY-TV in Greensboro. He has also worked as a freelance meteorologist at Fox 8 WGHP-TV in High Point and provided forecasts for a variety of local radio stations over the years. In addition to his teaching duties that span the state, Randy works with Appalachian State University as a sports broadcaster. Randy is a dynamic and inviting speaker, teaching Continuing Education classes that deal directly with insurance-related weather topics and issues. In 2021, he joined us as our Director of Marketing.
Brad Jacobs, JD, CPA Brad, a graduate of Indiana State University and the University of Kentucky School of Law, is a local attorney who provides valuable and pertinent instruction in the areas of estate planning, administration and taxation as it applies to numerous insurance products. Brad has been certified as a specialist in estate planning and probate law by the NC State Bar, is a licensed certified public accountant and is a member of the Society of Financial Service Planners, Greensboro Estate Planning Council.
Jeffrey P. Oves, CLU With more than a decade of industry experience in claims and sales, Jeff has a deep background in the Life, Disability and Long-Term Care markets. Jeff earned his BA from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH, and his CLU from The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. In 2007 Jeff was selected one of "40 Leaders Under 40" by the Triad Business Journal for his professional and civic work. His classes on financial planning, health care reform and underwriting issues are especially well received by his students. Jeff began teaching our Life and Health prelicensing courses in 2014, and in 2018 became our primary MS/LTC prelicensing instructor.
William J. Rendleman, Jr., CLU, ChFC, LUTCF Bill brings nearly fifty years of experience in the insurance industry, having been a general agent, training assistant and educator in the field. For thirty-two years he conducted our Life and Health prelicensing courses. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Bill is a former president of the Greensboro Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers and served as its Association Executive for twenty-five years. Bill’s passionate delivery makes financial topics interesting and understandable for all his students.
Gordon Skeeters, CIC Specializing in commercial insurance, Gordon has over thirty years of experience in the property and liability industry. He is a partner in The Phoenix Company, an independent insurance agency located in Winston-Salem, and a 1979 graduate of Wake Forest University. His experience selling and offering insurance solutions for all types of businesses enables him to add a real-world perspective to a broad range of insurance topics. Gordon became our Property and Casualty prelicensing instructor in 2019.
Dennis Toman, JD, CELA Dennis is an author and speaker, a graduate of the UNC School of Law and founder of The Elderlaw Firm in Greensboro. He is also a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation, as well as a Board-Certified Specialist in Elder Law, Estate Planning and Probate by the North Carolina State Bar. In addition to sitting on a number of boards, he previously served as the president of the Greensboro Society of Financial Service Professionals. With his years of experience guiding families through their eldercare journey, Dennis brings a unique perspective to a variety of CE topics.
