SELF-STUDY
|
Our traditional, non-internet-based self-study prelicensing program is one of the oldest and most established in North Carolina. Thousands of students have used it with success for more than thirty years. Best of all, it can be completed anytime, anywhere and at your own pace!
Our format, which includes custom-designed textbooks, audio review on flash drive, a variety of handouts and the NC Insurance Candidate Guide, offers many advantages over online courses. Although internet-based training offers a degree of flexibility for some students, the volume and detail of a prelicensing course can be overwhelming in an online environment. We've spent years developing and refining our materials, and our passing ratios are consistently above the state average for all self-study prelicensing courses.
Once your payment has been received, your materials will be shipped to you via USPS Priority Mail at no additional charge. We are able to provide pick-up by appointment only. Please give our offices a call, at (336) 851-6002, to schedule a time.
After you complete the study portion of the program, you will take a state-required end-of-course test that must be passed with a minimum score of 70%. If this test is taken off-site, it MUST be monitored by a disinterested third party (e.g., a friend or coworker -- NOT a direct supervisor or agency owner). Completed answer sheets and third-party affidavits should be returned for grading as email attachments; PDFs or JPEGs are preferred. (Please note: Any tests returned after 4:30 p.m. will be graded the following business day.)
You will also need to complete an NC License Application and pay all associated fees. For details on filling out the NC License Application, please review this document provided by the NC Department of Insurance.
